The Women’s Ministry at First Presbyterian is under the direction of the Women of the Church (WOC).  We provide opportunities for Bible Study, Fellowship and Service for all of the women of the church. The moderator for the Women of The Church Council for this year is Anita Bollier.

Our annual events include:

• Fall Fellowship Dinner
• Sisters in Christ Luncheon
• Good Friday Breakfast
• A Women’s Retreat

Our Service opportunities include:  making shoe boxes for the migrant worker children in Clewiston, the regular collection of diapers and baby wipes for First Care Crisis Pregnancy Center and an annual shower for First Care Crisis Pregnancy Center.

We also have a Prayer Shawl ministry on the 2nd Monday of each month at 2 pm in the Library.  Join others in knitting or crocheting prayer shawls for others.  If you don’t know how to do either, we will teach you!

Our Bible Study opportunities are two fold.  Women in the Word (WIW) meets for two semesters each year, September through December and January through April.  There are usually two studies offered each semester.  The other Women’s Bible study is on Wednesday Evening with our Adult discipleship classes.

Other Fellowship opportunities include Sisters in Christ Fellowship Groups that meet once a month for Fellowship, Friendship and Fun. There are twelve different groups that meet almost every day of the week some during the day and some in the evening. We have groups of young mom’s that meet, two with babies and children and one without children. If you are interested in getting to know others and getting connected, please contact Sara McDonnell at 622-8818, Ext. 104. Let us know the times you are available to meet and we will find a fellowship group for you.

Good Friday Breakfast

Good Friday Breakfast meets off campus. We gather at 9:00 am and always have a wonderful message and delightful music.

Women In the Word

Meets Thursday mornings from 9:30 am – 11:30 am, except in the summer. Childcare is available for pre-school children.

Women’s Circles

We have both a Morning circle and an Evening circle Bible study.

The Morning Circle meets once a month on Tuesdays at different women’s homes.  See the First Press newsletter for the date and location of the next Morning circle.

The Evening Circle meets on the 4th Monday of the month at 7:00 pm at the church in the Admin. Library. Coffee and light refreshments are served.

Sisters In Christ Luncheon

The Sisters in Christ Luncheon will be held during January or February and is a time for women to gather for a delicious luncheon with a program of music and a speaker. Child care provided for ages 0-6 with registration.
