Senior Adult

Senior AdultsOur Senior Adult Ministry here at First Presbyterian Church of North Palm Beach is continuously working to help make exciting times for Senior Adults! We offer fun and fellowship for the young at heart who are 50+.

Activities include:

  • Monthly dinners or potlucks, with speakers, movies or game nights afterwards
  • “Day trip” monthly events to places of interest throughout Florida
  • The “Out-to-Lunch Bunch” first-Friday-of-the-month luncheon club at a different area restaurant each month
  • Bridge, every Thursday afternoon in our Fellowship Hall
  • Service opportunities in local missions and ministries
  • Periodic health screenings and seminars

Exciting Times

“Exciting Times” is our senior supplement, for folks over 50 years of age. Inside every monthly edition, you can find the Events of the Month (including our Out-to-Lunch Bunch, our monthly senior dinner, and what “Day Trips” we’ll be taking that month). You can also go into our Future Senior Events page and discover what interesting “happenings” are on the horizon. In This Month’s Calendar, you can see what is on our schedule day by day.

Senior AdultsVolunteer Activities

Would you like to be more active in serving at church, but maybe don’t know what you could do, given some physical limitations? Well, we have several ways to become “connected” all of which do not involve driving at night.

Here’s a short list of volunteer opportunities:

  1. Helping the church staff prepare the First Press for mailing one morning a month.
  2. Helping fold, address, and seal envelopes for church mailings.
  3. Being on the church “prayer chain”, helping to “lift up others” on a daily basis (from your home).
  4. Giving Cindy Coleman a hand, setting tables in the fellowship hall on Wednesday mornings. If you’re not a “morning” person, you could help with the serving and “clean up” on Wednesday evenings.
  5. Helping restock the pews with supplies during the week.
  6. Helping count the Sunday’s collections on the following Monday (every fourth month of the year).

If any of these activities pique your curiosity, please give Debbie, with the Senior Ministries, a call at 622-8818, ext. 107 and she can refer you to the proper church member, to start getting involved!
