Here’ a look at our activities for the month of August 2010. We would love to have you join us!
| The “Out to Lunch Bunch”
On Friday afternoon, August 6th, the “Out-to-Lunch Bunch” will be dining at the Waterway Café on the Intracoastal (not too far from church) at 1:00 pm. For those wishing to drive themselves, the Waterway is on the southwest corner of the PGA bridge. For those wanting a ride to the restaurant, the van will leave at 12:45 pm. The Waterway has something for everyone, from soups and salads to burgers and sandwiches. Their cold shrimp salad is really yummy! Prices are moderate and lunch, as always, is “Dutch Treat. Please call Midge Zweig at 624-7248 to make your reservation. We hope you can join us for some good food and fellowship! Bon Appétit!

Day Trip Aboard the Manatee Queen in August
On Friday morning, August 13th, our bus will leave church at 10:30 am to travel to the Jupiter Inlet, where we will board the Manatee Queen sight-seeing boat for a two-hour cruise around Jupiter Island. A box lunch from Toojay’s will be provided for us to enjoy on board. You have a choice of three sandwich meals: turkey and cheese on rye, roast beef on whole wheat or tuna salad on challah bread. Potato chips, cole slaw, a cookie and beverage are provided with your meal. Cost of the trip is $ 37.00 which includes your lunch. Please call your reservations into Katie at 622-8818 by Friday, August 6th. Be sure and let her know what entrée you want for lunch when you call. All Aboard!
Day Trip to South Florida Science Museum and Planetarium
On Friday morning, August 27th, we will be boarding the bus at 10:45 am for a “Dutch treat” lunch at the popular City Grill Restaurant in West Palm Beach, with an excursion following to the South Florida Science Museum in Dreher Park. Once at the museum, we will take in the planetarium show “Nighttime Skies Over West Palm Beach”, with ample time afterwards to tour the museum on our own. We should get back to church around 4:45 pm. Cost for the trip is $15.00 per person, with lunch additional. Please make your reservations by calling Pat at 691-4097, by Friday, August 20th. We guarantee you a most informative day, complete with good food and fellowship!

Future Senior Events
Our Senior calendar is “in full gear” for the summer! Here’s what’s up for September:
We continue to have our weekly Thursday Bridge group, from 1:00 – 3:30 pm in the FH. Call Loraine at 691-8983 if you want to join in the fun! Light refreshments are served and prizes are awarded for high score, low score and being the last person of the day to take a trick with a deuce. You don’t need to come with a partner – we’ll fix you up with someone nice! We play “Party” Bridge, not Duplicate.

We don’t have our KeenAger/Senior dinners in the summer months of July and August, but will be starting them up again in September. We wish everybody a fun, healthy and blessed summer!!
