WEDNESDAY NIGHT CLASSES
Winter classes began January 13th, 2010.
New Testament Overview-this is the second half of the class being taught by Rev. Arnold. Trace God’s story through the life of Christ and his church as we gain an understanding of the entire New Testament.
Monk School: A Study of the Spiritual Disciplines. Led by Ron and Catherine Hilliard and Chris Southard. Using Richard Foster’s book, Celebration of Discipline, we will learn about the spiritual practices that allow God to work in our lives. This class will include topics such as prayer, study, fasting, solitude, and worship. We will also discuss how to incorporate these practices into your everyday life.
The Truth Project-In a recent study, the Barna Research Group revealed a stunning statistic that continues to reverberate throughout the evangelical world. Only 9 percent of professing Christians have a biblical worldview.1 Because of this, today’s believers live very similarly to non-believers. A personal sense of significance is rarely experienced, we spend our money and time on things that fail to satisfy and we begin to wonder what life’s ultimate purpose really is. We are, in short, losing our bearings as a people and a nation. The Truth Project is a DVD-based small group curriculum comprised of 12 one-hour lessons taught by Dr. Del Tackett. This study is the starting point for looking at life from a biblical perspective. Each lesson discusses in great detail the relevance and importance of living the Christian worldview in daily life.
Women’s Study led by Cindy Hannan and Sheryl Kittrell – to be announced soon.
The Hole in Our Gospel (6 weeks) and Wild Goose Chase (6 weeks) led by Tim Gooley. Using the books by the same title, this class will read and discuss what it means to obey God’s commands to go into our world and follow God wherever he might lead. Whether caring for the less fortunate or following God’s call to serve it is important to be aware of God’s leading. Join us as we discover the amazing ways that God comes to us and leads us in following Him.
Words From the Wise: A Parenting Class based on the Book of Proverbs led by Deana Cerniglia. Topics will include marriage, healing your past before you pass it down to your children, building a relationship with God, disciplining your children, getting them to eat their broccoli and go to bed (and stay there). The class will be a 12 week session with a workbook to keep track of personal and child rearing strategies.
- Middle School “Crew” meets in the Youth Building at 6:00 pm.
- Children’s Choir meets at 5:55 pm.
- Kingdom Kids and Club 56 meet at 6:15 pm.
