Committees
Adult Education Committee
Chairperson: Cindy Hannan
This committee promotes and encourages the instruction of the congregation in the Bible, plans educational opportunities that promote growth as disciples of Jesus Christ, provides for the teaching of the Doctrines of the Reformed Faith, and provides opportunities for Christian Fellowship and service. Its responsibilities include the Sunday Morning classes, Wednesday evening classes, Church educational series, events, and trips for adults, small groups, and identifying and equipping those who have the gift of teaching.
Children’s Ministries Committee
Chairperson: Jane Sanders.
The objectives of this committee are to bring children to Christ, to encourage and enable children to grow in knowledge and understanding of the Bible and the doctrines of the Reformed Faith, to provide opportunities for Christian fellowship, service, and evangelism for children in our church and community and to train and encourage volunteers in Children’s Ministries. The committee is in charge of overseeing the Church nursery and childcare, Sunday School for ages 2 through 6th grade, Children in worship, mid-week programs, Special events, Children’s Library, Children’s Ministry newsletter, liaison between Session and Preschool Advisory Board, and Children’s Music programs.
Congregational Care Committee
Chairperson: Susan Holland.
This committee ministers pastorally to those in our congregation and community with spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. This committee is responsible for Stephen Ministry, Compassion Ministry, Samaritan’s Pocket, Tree of Life, Funeral Receptions, Recovery Groups, and Prayer Ministries.
Evangelism Committee
Chairperson: Alan Mulcahy.
This committee promotes personal growth in our membership in the area of faith-sharing and to design occasions and programs that reach out to the community with the Gospel. The Evangelism Committee also oversees the College Ministry, Singles Ministry, and Men’s Ministry.
Facilities Committee
Chairperson: temporarily open
This committee identifies the acquisition, construction, maintenance, and repair of the real estate, structures, equipment and vehicles of the church.
Fellowship Committee
Chairperson: Hank Copeland.
This committee provides a warm and inviting atmosphere that promotes Christian fellowship among the members and visitors of the church through opportunities that will increase the depth of relationships and levels of involvement and caring. This is accomplished through the provision of opportunities for fellowship in both large groups and small groups, gathering for worship, study, mission, and encouragement. This committee provides the overseeing of the Ushers and Greeters, Ministry Information Stations, Devotionals/Tracts, Emmaus Reunion Groups, Family Night Dinners, Church Directory, New Member/Inquirers Class, Women of the Church, and Senior Adult Ministry.
Finance Committee
Chairperson: Lee Worsham
This committee promotes the worship of God, the nurture of God’s people, and the propagation of the Gospel, through wise use of the tithes and offerings entrusted in the Church’s care. Its responsibilities include the Stewardship Campaign, financial recording of gifts, guide Session in formulating the annual budget. and teach the concept of tithing to the congregation.
Strategic Planning Committee
Chairperson: Ron Hilliard
This committee sets goals to achieve the long term plans for the church.
Missions Committee
Chairperson: Ken Weda
This committee guides the congregation in fulfilling the Great Commission of Christ to make disciples of all nations by proclaiming the Gospel of Christ, supports the planting and development of churches, and ministers to the needs of the missionaries. The committee determines the foreign and home missions budgets, screens and selects the mission causes to compose the missions budgets, plans the Missions Conference, communicates to the congregation about the missionaries we support, and provides short term missions opportunities.
Personnel Committee
Chairperson: Ken Wright
This committee’s role is to advance the worship and work of the church through a ministry to, and supervision of, the Church’s staff. Its responsibilities include monitoring the relationships of the Church’s staff, overseeing the performance review process, overseeing salary, benefits, and work conditions, and establishing personnel policies.
Worship Committee
Chairperson: Becky Jarrett and Laura McLeod.
This committee’s role is to promote and enrich the worship and personal devotional life of the members and visitors of the church. They monitor the worship services, provide opportunities to receive the sacraments, and work in conjunction with the Christian Education Committee for the provision of devotional materials. The committee is also charged with enriching the worship of the church trough the cultivation of the music program.
Youth Committee
Chairperson: Eddie Nabhan.
This committee gives direction to the youth program so they can strive to lead teenagers to be life-long disciples who are committed to impacting the world for the Kingdom of God. The committee provides opportunities for middle school and high school students to have a relationship with Jesus Christ, to interact with one another through Sunday school, small groups, and various events, and to build leaders.
Session & Diaconnate
The Session is responsible for maintaining the spiritual direction of the church. They are the head governing body. The Session Members are:
